Is My Computer Overheating Because of the Zen Browser?

I've noticed that whenever I use the Zen Browser, my computer's temperature spikes really high for no apparent reason, then drops back down again. It seems to get hotter the longer I keep Zen open, which is puzzling since I'm not doing anything particularly demanding. When I closed Zen and went back to YouTube, the temperature returned to normal. Additionally, I might have a faulty HDMI cable since my screen would freeze and go black on Windows, but it gets better when I switch to a different cable. I suspect the original HDMI cable that came with my computer is to blame, but I'm not sure if it's causing the Zen Browser issue. By the way, I'm using Linux Mint.

Have you tried using a different browser? Switching away from Zen Browser might help figure out if it's causing the overheating issue.

I've experienced similar spikes with both Zen and Brave. I'm going to test Firefox next to see if it's any better.
