Is My Data Gone If My iPad Is Disabled?

Hey everyone, I have an old iPad 2 that's been in the family since 2012, and unfortunately, my nephew tried entering the wrong password too many times. Now it shows a message saying "iPad is disabled, connect to iTunes." I'm really worried about my data – is it definitely lost? Is there any way to simply enter the correct password and unlock it? The iOS version is really outdated, not updated since around 2019 or 2020. If there's any possibility of recovering the data, I'd love to hear about it; if not, I won't even bother trying!

Actually, there's a chance your data might still be intact. I recommend following some recovery steps for a disabled iPad. You can find a guide that explains how to troubleshoot this issue and possibly recover your data. Good luck!

You might want to reach out to Apple directly. This whole situation is pretty common, and they can help determine whether your iPad is yours and offer solutions. It’s tough to say without knowing for sure if you own the device, but they’ll be able to sort everything out for you!

But if it's a case of the data being totally unreachable, what's the point? It seems silly if it's already lost. I just want a clear yes or no on the data before I even consider contacting Apple.
