Hey everyone! I need some advice on my external HDD. I got a 4TB TOSHIBA MQ04UBB400 back in December 2022, and for about a year now, it has been making a strange "scraping" sound when it revs up. Fortunately, I haven't experienced any issues with its performance so far, but I'm a bit worried about those sounds. I checked its health using CrystalDiskInfo, and here are the readings:
- Read Error Rate: Current: 100, Worst: 100, Threshold: 50
- Reallocated Sectors Count: Current: 100, Worst: 100, Threshold: 50
- UltraDMA CRC Error Count: Current: 200, Worst: 253, Threshold: 0
Should I be concerned about the noises and these values? Thanks!

It's generally a good idea to be cautious with HDDs that make odd sounds. Even if your stats seem okay, those noises could indicate something amiss. Just to be safe, make sure you have backups of any important files, just in case!
What does the health status in CrystalDiskInfo actually say?
The values you shared from CrystalDiskInfo seem stable since they’re on a scale where 100 means good and 0 means bad. But those strange sounds are definitely worth taking seriously. Do you have a screenshot of what the health report looks like?
