Is my first PC build good for 1440p gaming?

I'm putting together my first PC build and want to make sure everything is on point before I finalize my choices. My main goal is to game at 1440p, but I'm not really into competitive gaming—I'm basically replacing my PS5 with this PC. My budget is flexible: I'd prefer to stay between $0-$1000, but I could go up to $1200. Over that, $1500 is my absolute hard limit if there's a compelling reason to spend that much.

Here are the components I'm considering:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor ($279.97)
I know the 7800x3d is a top performer, but it's more than I'm ready to spend for my needs.
- CPU Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE ($34.90)
It seems solid and fits well—I hope!
- Motherboard: MSI PRO B650-A WIFI ATX AM5 ($139.99)
Looks decent for what I'm after.
- Memory: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 ($279.99)
Took me forever to choose this—I definitely want memory that's compatible without issues.
- Storage: Samsung 990 Pro w/Heatsink 2TB NVME SSD ($154.99)
I need 2TB, and I've heard great things about Samsung's support, which is comforting.
- Video Card: MSI SHADOW 3X OC GeForce RTX 5070 12GB ($525.99)
This is a choice based on value for performance with Nvidia.
- Case: Montech KING 95 PRO ATX Mid Tower ($148.97)
It was a bit pricey, but I've heard good reviews.
- Power Supply: SeaSonic CORE GX 750W 80+ Gold Certified ($87.99)
Just what I need for power without breaking the bank.
Total Cost: $1652.79 (prices based on direct buys from Amazon; shopping around could lower this). I'm looking for advice and opinions on my build, especially since I'd like to avoid the usual advice of getting an AMD GPU, as I've heard that plenty.

You might want to consider downgrading to the Ryzen 7600X instead of the 7700. The two extra cores probably won't make much of a difference in gaming performance for you.
