I just bought the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D along with the Asus Prime X870-P WiFi motherboard after spending a whole year saving up for this new PC build. I stumbled upon some older posts on Reddit claiming that this processor had issues and that it was happening specifically with this motherboard, which has me a bit freaked out since this is my first time building a PC. Have those problems been resolved? Here are my specs: CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Motherboard - Asus Prime X870-P WiFi, GPU - Sapphire Nitro+ AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Gaming OC 16GB, RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 CL36, Storage - TeamGroup T-Force Z44A 4TB NVMe Gen4 SSD, PSU - Be Quiet! Pure Power 12 850W, 80+ Gold, Full Modular, PCIe 5.0, Cooler - Cooler Master MasterLiquid 360L Core White (AIO), Case - NZXT H6 Flow White.

Yeah, it's mostly an ASRock issue. Just make sure to update your BIOS to the latest version, and you'll be all set to enjoy your new rig! No need to stress too much about it.

There were definitely some initial issues, but if you're not using an ASRock board, you shouldn't worry. Most issues came from improperly seated CPUs or damaged sockets. Enjoy your new PC!

I've had my 9800X3D running smoothly on a different board with no problems. The concerns mostly stemmed from ASRock boards at launch, so you should be perfectly fine with your Asus motherboard.

You're good! Most of the problems with failing AM5 CPUs were linked to ASRock motherboards, not Asus. Your setup should work just fine without any major issues.
