Is My PC Fried After a Short Circuit?

I turned on my PC and heard a short circuit sound. Now, I can smell something like burnt plastic coming from the CPU power area. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

First off, you definitely need to figure out what caused that short circuit. It's important to replace whatever component failed. Also, consider changing the thermal paste and giving everything a good cleaning while you're at it.
