Is My PC Setup Good Enough for RDR2 and Mods?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for a second opinion on my PC build. I need it primarily for playing Red Dead Redemption 2, including mods via RedM. I also want to play Minecraft on it, but RDR2 is my top priority. I'm currently playing on Xbox One and I'm happy with those graphics, which is part of the reason I'm switching to PC—I want to dive into modding. I got this setup from another user on here and I'm thankful for the advice, but I'd love more input before I make the purchase. By the way, I found a Radeon GPU on eBay for just $50, but I'm not set on it yet. I still need to pick out a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, so expect to see me asking about that too! Thanks a bunch for your help!

If you're worried about costs, have you looked into affordable Windows 11 keys? You can find them for as low as $15! That could save you a bit for investing in better parts.

That GPU you're looking at is quite outdated. While it might handle RDR2, I'd suggest saving a bit more for something like an RX 6600 or an RTX 3060. Your other components look solid and a stronger GPU would make a big difference. Plus, don't forget to get a bigger SSD—RDR2 alone takes up over 150GB!

Thanks for the tips! I’ll definitely check out those GPUs, even though they might stretch my budget a bit. Just trying to figure out the best value for a PC! Appreciate it!

Would getting one used off eBay work? I found this listing: [link]

Honestly, I'd recommend saving up a bit more before you commit to a build that's somewhat outdated. If you're serious about PC gaming, especially for RDR2, you'll likely need to invest at least $300 on a decent graphics card. It’s better to have a capable setup than regret it later!

Lol, just watching this conversation unfold is hilarious. But seriously, you might be okay with what you have if you're not too picky. I've got a 3060 and get smooth gameplay, so you might want to keep that in mind for your setup.

Not really. Someone with a better GPU than what you have said they struggled just to keep up. Don't overhype the specs!

Thanks for your input! Peace of mind matters when spending this much!
