Is overheating common for a new iPhone 17e during use and charging?

Hey everyone! I recently got an iPhone 17e, and I've noticed it gets pretty hot, both during regular use and while charging. Even simple tasks like browsing make it warm up, and it heats up a lot when plugged in. I've compared it to my old iPhone 13, which does warm up too, but the 17e seems to get hotter even with lighter use. Is this a normal thing for a new phone, or should I be worried about a possible hardware or software issue? Should I just keep an eye on it for a bit longer, or is it worth asking for a replacement? Thanks for any insights!

When you're setting up a new phone or updating, it's working hard and can definitely get warm. It's pretty normal! If it cools down after a bit of rest, there’s usually nothing to worry about. Just give it some downtime now and then.

It’s fairly common for devices to heat up a bit during updates or intensive tasks. If there’s no temperature warning popping up, I’d say it’s okay. Taking breaks to let it cool is a good idea!

Thanks for the tip! I've been monitoring it, and I'm trying to limit background processes to see if that helps.
