I'm curious if anyone has experience using the business version of SpiderOak for cloud storage. My small business is looking for a more secure option where we would control the encryption keys instead of relying on a big company like Microsoft. Is SpiderOak reliable for backups?

I haven't heard much about SpiderOak in a while, but it used to get good mentions by folks like Snowden. Honestly, though, almost anything seems to be a better choice than OneDrive!

I recommend going with Veeam if you're looking for reliable cloud backup. It's known for great performance and security.

Not exactly what you're after, but you might want to check out rsync.net. It could offer some backup solutions worth considering.

If it's an option for you, Synology allows you to back up your OneDrive data to its NAS for free (aside from the initial cost of the NAS). It could be a good alternative.

We moved away from SpiderOak because when our backups grew large, we started having issues with restores failing. I remember reaching out to support, and they mentioned it wasn't a top priority for them to resolve. That was six years ago, so maybe they've improved since then. Definitely give it a test run yourself to see if it meets your needs!

You might want to consider MSP360, which lets you use your own encryption passphrase. Plus, it's a bring-your-own-cloud storage solution, and B2 storage is really affordable. Might fit what you're looking for!
