I'm considering taking Harvard's CS50 course. The course content appears to be available for free, but paying about $150 would provide a certificate and access to an AI-related feature. Is the paid version worthwhile, or would it be better to take the free version?

I wouldn’t pay $150 just for the credential. It can show that you finished the course, but it isn’t a substitute for a portfolio, practical experience, or a formal degree. The AI feature also probably isn’t enough on its own to justify the cost.
Probably not. You can study the course material for free, and most employers won’t place much value on the certificate by itself. Your completed projects and ability to demonstrate what you learned will matter far more.
