Is the 5070 Graphics Card a Good Choice for My Build?

I'm building my first PC and I'm figuring out which GPU to buy. I have a 650W Corsair RM650E power supply, so the 9070 XT is out of my budget right now. I'm currently considering the 5070. Is 12GB of VRAM really that inadequate? My goal is to use this GPU for about 4 to 5 years, mainly focusing on upscaling and not much ray tracing. Are there better options for my budget and power supply? Thanks!

The 5070 isn't a bad choice at all! It ranks among the top gaming GPUs when you look at benchmarks. If you don't crank all settings to ultra, 12GB of VRAM should be more than fine. Plus, it even holds up well in 4K for certain games. You should be happy with this card!

I just upgraded from a 2070 Super to the 5070, and I'm really impressed with its performance. It even runs some games at 4K on high settings. If you're mainly gaming and don't need top-tier ray tracing, you should definitely consider it!

The 5070 is a solid card! While some folks would prefer 16GB of VRAM instead of 12GB, it's still plenty for most games. As long as you can find it at a good price, you'll be in good shape. Plus, it handles 1440p gaming really well!

What kind of games are you running at 1440p?

Don't worry too much about the 5070 being considered bad. It's a great value card, especially if you can get it at a lower price compared to the 9070 variants. It still performs well for gaming and should last you a good while!

Honestly, the 5070 is often overshadowed by the 9070, which has a bit better performance and 16GB of VRAM. But if you're gaming at 1440p and aren't maxing out settings, the 5070 is definitely a good option. It's capable of high settings in most games! Just make sure to check current prices—they can fluctuate a lot lately.

What about the power supply—would 650W be enough for the 9070?
