Is the 9070/9070XT worth it over the 9060XT for 1080p gaming?

I'm building a new PC with an AMD 7800x3d processor, b560m motherboard, and 32GB of RAM. I'll be using Amazon AU to pay for it over 18 or 24 months with my Latitude credit card. I'm mainly playing FPS games like BF6, Apex Legends, and Valorant on a 1080p 180Hz monitor. I only have time to game on weekends and I'm not as hardcore as I used to be. Should I invest in the 9070 for $848 or the 9070XT for $923, or just stick with the 9060XT 16GB for $499? The price jump from the 9070 to the 9070XT is only $80, but I'm wondering if it's worth it for my use case or if there are better options I should consider.

I'd recommend the 9070XT, honestly. It might seem like overkill now, but it'll future-proof you for 1440p gaming later on. I currently have a 9060XT and it handles 1080p and even some Cyberpunk settings really well. Just keep in mind that the 9070XT is a bit overkill for your current build if you're not upgrading anytime soon.

Yeah, those numbers sound pretty inflated unless you're using some crazy settings like FSR. You won't hit those frame rates on max settings with a 9060XT for sure.

Also, why lowball your settings at 1280x960? You can do better! Just get a solid 1080p experience.

Honestly, the 9070 is about 50% faster than the 9060XT, but for 1080p gaming, the 9060XT is more than enough. In games like Valorant, you’ll likely run into CPU bottlenecks, so you won't see much difference between the 9060XT and 9070. If you think you might upgrade to 1440p down the line, then consider the 9070 or 9070XT. Just know that the 9070XT will use more power and run hotter than the 9070.

If you're playing at 1080p, definitely go with the 9060XT. It's a great fit for your setup without overspending for performance you won't fully utilize.

If you're gaming at 1080p, I recommend going with the 9060XT. It's a solid choice for that resolution, especially for the games you're playing. I have a 9070XT running at 3440x1440, but honestly, anything beyond 1080p feels like overkill for casual gaming. Plus, the price difference between the 9070 and the 9070XT is only worth it if you plan on upgrading your monitor in the future. Otherwise, stick with the 9060XT for a solid price-to-performance ratio.

With such a huge price range, I'd skip the 9070 altogether. Just go for the 9060XT; it'll handle everything perfectly for what you play. Save that extra cash unless you're planning to jump to a higher resolution.
