I'm heading to Microcenter today and thinking about picking up a 9850x3D bundle. Currently, I have a 3080 graphics card, an R5 3600 processor, and a B450 motherboard. I game at 1440p with a 165Hz monitor. Should I go for the 9850x3D bundle or stick with my current setup?

Absolutely, why not? It could be a solid upgrade for your system.
Going for the 9850x3D would definitely boost your performance significantly. Your current rig is good, but this upgrade could future-proof your setup, especially with upcoming games. Plus, if you were to buy the components separately, you’d spend more than $800. It's a good deal!
I think it’s too much CPU for your 3080, especially at 1440p. Maybe consider a 7800x3D combo instead and save some cash for a future GPU upgrade.

Not really! The 3080 would hold back its full potential, but upgrading to the 9850X3D could result in better FPS when you eventually swap out your GPU. I went from a 9900K to the 9800X3D and saw a huge improvement, even on my 3080Ti!
