I'm planning a new PC mainly for AAA and indie gaming, with some video editing and animation work in the future. The build comes to roughly $1,800, or about ₹170,000 in India, and I'm trying to decide between the Core Ultra 5 250KF Plus and the Ryzen 5 9600X. My current parts list is: Core Ultra 5 250KF Plus, Gigabyte B860M-H DDR5 motherboard, 16GB single-channel ADATA XPG DDR5-5600 memory, 1TB Verbatim Vi7000G SSD, ASRock Challenger RX 9070 16GB, Deepcool Gamer Storm 750W Gold power supply, Deepcool AG400 G2 cooler, and a Cooler Master Elite 490 case. I already have Windows and a 1080p 240Hz monitor, although I may upgrade the monitor later. My old system is failing because one RAM stick died and its used motherboard has become unreliable, so I'm planning to sell it and put that money toward this build. Is the 250KF Plus with the RX 9070 a sensible combination, and are there any parts I should reconsider within this budget?

I would be more concerned about the motherboard than the CPU-GPU pairing. That board’s four-phase VRM may struggle to handle the 250KF Plus under sustained productivity workloads. A stronger B860 board with a better VRM and cooling would be a safer choice, even if it means adjusting another part of the build. Make sure the board can maintain the processor’s performance without VRM overheating or power-limit throttling.
The processor and RX 9070 should make a strong overall gaming combination, but I would double-check the memory listing. ₹25,425 for one 16GB DDR5-5600 stick seems extremely high, unless the price is listed incorrectly. Try to get 32GB in two matching sticks if possible, since dual-channel memory matters for gaming and especially for video editing or animation. The 1TB SSD price also looks expensive, so it may be worth comparing more stores or checking local retailers for better deals.
Unfortunately, that is currently the cheapest 16GB stick I can find locally, and the SSD is also the least expensive option available. I might be able to negotiate a small discount at a physical store, but there probably isn’t much room to reduce the price.
I’ll look for a board with at least a six-phase VRM. I also considered the Ryzen 7 7700X, but the 250KF Plus appears to perform better for the productivity work I plan to do.
