I live near a Micro Center, where the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus is available in a $599.99 bundle with a motherboard and 32GB of RAM. I already have a Crucial 1TB M.2 SSD, so I only need to add an inexpensive case and power supply. The system would mainly be used for single-player gaming, though I may also self-host a media server and store files on it. I'm considering an Intel B580 graphics card for around $400, which would bring the total build to roughly $1,200. Would this be a good platform, or is there a better AMD bundle for my use case? I'm not especially concerned about upgrading the CPU in a few years and may eventually reuse the system as a server.

Consider comparing the B580 with a 16GB Radeon card if pricing is close. Depending on the games and settings, a faster GPU may improve your experience more than choosing a higher-tier processor. Since you’re coming from older consoles and are open to upscaling, a midrange GPU paired with either the 270K Plus or a cheaper CPU should deliver a substantial improvement.
For a gaming-only build, an AMD X3D processor would generally be the better option because of its extra gaming performance. However, the price premium may not be worthwhile, particularly if you’ll be playing at higher resolutions where the GPU is the limiting factor. The 270K Plus should remain plenty fast for several years, especially for single-player games.
