My power supply recently started failing, so I picked up a Corsair RM1000e at Best Buy on the advice that it would work with my Alienware Area 51 R5 from 2017. After I installed it, things powered on, but I'm not getting any video output. Can anyone confirm if this power supply is compatible with my setup?

From what I've researched, the Corsair RM1000e should be compatible with your Alienware Area 51 R5. However, make sure you replaced all the old power supply cables with the new ones from the RM1000e. Just swapping the PSU isn’t enough; using old cables could potentially damage your system.

I did use the new cables that came with the PSU, but it's good to double-check since sometimes people forget about that detail.

Does your system show any signs of power, like fan movement or lights on the motherboard? If everything's powered but you still don’t see video, it could be something else. You might want to check connections or even reset the RAM.

Yes, the fans are running when I turn it on, but the keyboard doesn't light up, which is odd.
