I'm currently using an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor along with 64GB of dual-channel DDR4 RAM, an ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PRO WIFI II motherboard, and an NVIDIA RTX 2070 GPU. I've recently bought a new GPU, the NVIDIA RTX 5080, and I'm considering upgrading my power supply to the FSP VITA GM 1000W. While I'm aware that I could opt for a lower wattage PSU, I want to ensure I'm future-proofing my build. What do you all think about this choice?

In my opinion, that PSU might be overkill for your setup. You could potentially get a PSU with lower wattage, but if you're looking for future-proofing, it should work just fine.
The FSP VITA GM 1000W is rated B+ on the PSU tier list, so it’s a solid choice! You can find the list online for more details.
This PSU does offer good electrical performance, but keep in mind that it might not have the best fan technology. It could get a bit noisy when pushed close to 1000W, but with your current build, you likely won't hit that level of usage too often. It does have good protections to safeguard your components, which is a plus.
Hey, just to clarify, don’t confuse the 850W and 1000W models. The 850W version performs better in some aspects, so be sure to check the specifics!

Thanks for the confirmation! <3
