I'm putting together my first gaming PC, and I've spent some time at PC cafes playing games like Valorant, Tekken, and Minecraft. I'm looking at a secondhand setup with an Intel i5-12400F, a 3060 Ti graphics card, and 16GB of RAM for about $800 SGD (around $600 USD). I'm a bit worried about Intel's stability issues and whether I have any future upgrade options. Is this a good deal for gaming in 2025?

The i5-12400F is actually a decent choice, and you can easily upgrade it later to an i5-13600 or i5-14600KF if you need more power down the line. Just make sure it comes with the latest BIOS updates to avoid any issues. But yeah, the price with the 3060 Ti seems a bit high unless you're getting something else good in that build. Also, check if it has enough slots for RAM upgrades; you might want 32GB for some games.

Honestly, for that price, you could find a better PC setup. Spending $800 SGD sounds a bit steep for what you’re getting, especially if you’re going secondhand. It might be worth looking around a bit more for something newer or with better specs.

I agree that $800 is a bit much for this setup. You can definitely find better options or configurations if you shop around a bit more. Just make sure whatever you're getting has solid expansion options.
