I'm shopping for an SSD and found the 2TB Kingston NV3 priced close to some 1TB alternatives. I know it has some limitations compared with faster or higher-end drives, so I'm wondering whether those drawbacks matter and if doubling the capacity is worth choosing it. My main use would likely be gaming, but I'd also like to know when its performance might become a problem, such as during video editing or other demanding workloads. Are there better 2TB options at a similar price?

For gaming, the NV3 should be perfectly adequate. Game loading times usually don’t improve much when moving from a PCIe Gen 3 drive to a high-end Gen 5 model, so the extra capacity may be more valuable than chasing peak benchmark speeds.
It’s a relatively slower PCIe 4.0 SSD, but it can still work well for everyday use and games. The main concern is that calling it exceptionally reliable may be overstating things, so I’d compare its warranty, controller, NAND, and sustained-write behavior with other 2TB drives before buying.
Are there any better 2TB models that usually sell for about the same price?
Would the limitations matter more for something like video editing or other heavy file transfers?
