Is the MSI MAG X870E Tomahawk Wi-Fi Motherboard Still Problematic?

I've been looking into the MSI MAG X870E Tomahawk Wi-Fi ATX AM5 Motherboard, but I've come across mixed reviews. Some sources like Micro Center and PCPartPicker show it with a 4/5 rating, and I even saw a YouTube video warning against it. The video mentioned issues like mediocre audio quality, buggy software, and missing Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers. Yet, many users seem to think it's better than other options available. Do you think these problems have been fixed or are they still present? I'm focused on finding more affordable high-end AM5 motherboards due to the ongoing supply shortages.

I got one because I loved my old 650 model, but I had to return it due to fan header issues. I switched to an Asus Rog 870-f and it worked right out of the box with my fans. I tried to overlook the criticism but ran into problems like frequent CMOS resets.

I've been using this motherboard for about three months now, and honestly, most of the issues people point out seem exaggerated to me. The audio is decent unless you're an audiophile with super high-end headphones. I just went to MSI’s website for the Wi-Fi drivers when I built it, and it took like no time at all. That YouTube video looked to me like typical clickbait.

Totally agree! It was just some fluff made for views. Honestly, does it even matter that it's ATX? It'll fit in all compatible cases.

I've had my X870E for months and wasn't aware of these issues at all. My only problem has been it conflicting with FanControl, causing my fans to run louder than I like. Other than that, I'm quite happy with it.

I have one, and it works well for me. My only real gripe is the color scheme, but since I don't see it while I'm using my PC, it doesn't bother me too much. And honestly, stop watching those AI-driven YouTube reviews!

I haven't had any issues at all with my X870 Tomahawk, everything's been smooth so far!

Just a heads up, I'm referring to the X870E version, which has some extended features.

I'm not buying into that YouTube drama. What really matters is the performance. If someone claims the audio quality is subpar, what they mean is usually vague. And if there's software mentioned as faulty, it's likely that specific software, so don't sweat it. Drivers are available online, so what's there to resolve? Think about what you really need from the X870E compared to the cheaper B850 model.

I prefer the X870E since it seems to offer more features, but I get what you mean.
