Is the Noctua NH-L12Sx77 a good cooler for a Ryzen 5 9600X in the FormD T1?

I'm putting together my first PC in a FormD T1 and plan to use a Ryzen 5 9600X with its integrated graphics, so there won't be a dedicated graphics card. The system will mainly be used for casual work and other non-gaming tasks. I'm considering the Noctua NH-L12Sx77 and don't mind paying more for good build quality and long-term reliability. Would it be suitable for this CPU and case, and will it provide enough clearance for my RAM?

The NH-L12Sx77 should handle a 9600X easily for those kinds of workloads, but you’ll need to verify the cooler height against your exact FormD T1 layout. RAM clearance depends on the memory modules, so check their height and Noctua’s compatibility list before buying.

You probably don’t need to spend Noctua money for this processor. Compact options such as the Thermalright AXP90-X36 or AXP120-67 are much cheaper and should be adequate, especially for casual work. The AXP120-67 is still a reasonable choice if you want a little more cooling capacity.

The Ryzen 5 9600X generally runs fairly cool. A modest cooler should be enough, and even a budget tower cooler can handle it in normal use. Heavy stress tests may push temperatures high enough to throttle, but that usually won’t happen during everyday workloads.
