My current PC has a ROG Strix B550-F Gaming motherboard, a Ryzen 7 3700X, an RTX 2060 Super 8GB, and 32GB of DDR4 memory. I built it about six years ago, and this would be my first major upgrade, so I'm unsure how to balance current prices, performance, and long-term value. I'm considering a Radeon 9060 XT, preferably the 16GB model. Would it be a good match for my system, and should I also plan to replace the CPU?

Also compare the 9060 XT with the 9070 or 9070 GRE before buying. They offer roughly 30% more performance, and if one is only around 20–30% more expensive in your area, it may be the better long-term purchase. Pricing varies a lot by country, though, so the 9060 XT 16GB remains a good value when the higher-tier cards cost substantially more.
The 9060 XT 16GB would be a substantial upgrade and should handle 1440p well. It offers a lot of memory for the price, so it seems like a strong choice for longevity. Your Ryzen 7 3700X can work with it initially, but moving to something like a Ryzen 7 5700X later would help keep the graphics card fed.
The 16GB version is the one I’d choose. Your B550 motherboard supports newer AM4 processors, although a BIOS update may be required before installing one. A Ryzen 5 5600X or better would be a noticeable step up, while a 5700X or 5800X would be stronger options if your budget allows.
