Is the Radeon RX 9070 XT Worth $750 for a $1,500 PC Build?

I'm putting together a $1,500 gaming PC and have already spent about $750 on the case, CPU, motherboard, RAM, and other components. The best graphics card deal I can currently find is a Radeon RX 9070 XT for $750. Should I buy it now, or use the integrated graphics for a while and wait for prices to improve? For anyone who owns one, how has the performance and driver experience been? Also, if ASRock and Gigabyte models cost the same, is there any meaningful difference between them?

I’ve been very happy with my 9070 XT. Performance is excellent for the price, and my driver experience has been trouble-free so far. If your budget is already set aside and you want to play at high settings, buying now seems defensible rather than waiting indefinitely for a deal that may never happen.

At current prices, the 9070 XT is one of the strongest performance-per-dollar options in this range. Comparable cards from the competition are often well over $1,000, and GPU prices may rise further, so $750 is reasonable if you need the performance now. It would have been nicer closer to its original $600 price, but there’s no guarantee it will return to that level.

The ASRock and Gigabyte versions should perform very similarly at the same power limit. The main differences are cooler design, noise, size, warranty, and factory overclocking. Pick the model with the better cooler and warranty, and check that it fits your case. Gigabyte models often have decent cooling, but the difference usually isn’t large enough to justify paying extra.

If you can wait, major seasonal sales might bring a temporary discount, but I wouldn’t count on it. The 9070 XT is a good choice at today’s market prices, while the regular 9070 may be the smarter buy if power consumption, heat, or total system balance matters more than maximum performance.

Consider the regular RX 9070 before committing to the XT. It still has 16GB of VRAM, uses noticeably less power, and is only around 10–12% slower in many games. If it saves you roughly $150, that may be a better overall value unless you specifically want every extra frame.
