Hey everyone! I'm currently building my new PC and I'm thinking about pairing a Ryzen 7 9800X3D with either the ROG Strix X870E-E Gaming WiFi or the AM5 Gigabyte X870E AORUS PRO ATX motherboard. I've come across some posts suggesting that the Asus boards might fry AM5 CPUs, which has made me a bit hesitant about my choice. Has anyone here used this combo before? Did you experience any issues? Is the concern about the motherboard really valid, or is it just misinformation? I'm also open to suggestions for other motherboards that might work better with this CPU. Thanks in advance!

There have been a few reports about Asus motherboards frying AM5 CPUs. While we don't have concrete data on how widespread the issue is, I'd personally recommend sticking with Gigabyte or MSI boards for safety. By the way, is there a specific feature of the X870E chipset you're looking for that a cheaper B850 motherboard wouldn't offer?

I’m not too familiar with the features. I just thought the X870E looked cool and I wanted to get something newer!
