I'm looking to buy my first graphics card and I'm torn between the RTX 3070 and the RTX 3070 Ti. Is it worth paying the extra money for the 3070 Ti, or will the 3070 perform just fine for 1080p gaming? I've noticed in some videos that there doesn't seem to be a huge performance gap between the two. I've also heard that the 3070 Ti is better suited for 1440p gaming. Any advice would be appreciated!

The 3070 Ti isn't significantly better; it still has only 8GB of VRAM. I wouldn't spend more than an extra $30 for the upgrade, to be honest.
The 3070 Ti is roughly 10% faster than the 3070. In the grand scheme, that's not a huge difference.
Honestly, these cards are pretty similar. If you undervolt and overclock the 3070, it can get performance close to the 3070 Ti. We're talking about a difference of maybe 6-10%, and that's really pushing it.
You mention 1080p, but at what refresh rate? 60Hz or 300Hz could totally change how the cards perform since they render a vastly different number of frames.
I'm considering a 144Hz monitor, maybe even a 75Hz one. Does that change your recommendation?

What about if you undervolt and overclock the 3070 Ti? Wouldn't that make it even better?
