Is the RTX 5060 Good for Gaming and Rendering?

I'm building my first PC and need some advice! My laptop just died, and I'm on a tight budget. I'm considering getting the RTX 5060 or the 5060 Ti. Can anyone tell me if these cards are good for rendering in SketchUp, 3ds Max, and Blender? Also, I'm looking to game at 1080p with high settings. Will the 5060 or 5060 Ti handle that?

I’ve heard mixed reviews about the 5060. While it’s okay for 1080p, some games, especially graphically intense ones, may struggle due to having only 8GB of VRAM. If you want smooth gameplay for all the latest titles, I’d suggest looking at the 9060 XT 16GB as a more future-proof option.

Honestly, you might want to consider the 9060 XT 16GB instead of the 5060 Ti 8GB; they're around the same price and the extra VRAM will be helpful for your applications. Just keep in mind that while AMD cards can be a bit slower for certain tasks, they still perform well for gaming overall!

The 5060 can definitely handle 1080p gaming and is decent for rendering too, though it’s not lightning quick. If you can swing it, the Ti version is a bit faster for more demanding tasks, especially if you're working with larger projects in rendering software.

If you’re strictly looking at 1080p high settings, I think you’ll be fine with the 5060. My 3080 runs everything smoothly on high settings, but your choice sounds solid for budget gaming. Just make sure to look out for future-proofing with VRAM choices—if you can, go for the 16GB version!
