I'm putting together a gaming rig and I'm considering the RTX 5070 for my setup. Here's the current build I'm looking at: an Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF CPU, 48 GB of DDR5 RAM, and a PNY OC GeForce RTX 5070 video card. The total budget for the build is around $1500. I'm curious if the RTX 5070 is a good enough card for gaming, especially in the coming years. What do you all think?

Just a heads up, while the Intel Core Ultra series is solid, it's not the best for gaming. It excels in productivity tasks, but for gaming, you might see better results with something like the AMD AM5. The 5070 is decent, but in the future, VRAM demand is likely to increase, so having 16 GB would be preferable in the long run.

Thanks for the insight! I guess I need to think about what I’ll be playing in the future.

Absolutely! The RTX 5070 should work great with your build, especially paired with the Intel Core Ultra 7. It’s seen as a strong choice for gaming right now, providing solid performance without going for the super expensive 5080 or 5090 models. Don't let the hype get to you—this card will handle most games well for a couple of years.

Yeah, exactly! I think it's a great balance between cost and performance for the specs you're going with.

Honestly, if you're not playing on a 4K monitor, the 5070 should be more than enough.

Have you looked into the RX 9070 as an alternative? It might be worth considering, depending on the price differences.

Yeah, I did think about the RX 9070, but the price is quite a jump from the 5070.
