I'm considering upgrading from a Ryzen 7 3700X to a Ryzen 7 5700X3D, but I'm unsure what a reasonable price is now that production has reportedly ended. I've seen listings ranging from about £200 to £500, so would £250 be a good deal? Are there any better AM4 processors I should consider instead, such as the 5800X3D or newer alternatives?

The 5700X3D has become difficult to find because regular production has ended. Around £250 could be acceptable if it’s from a reputable seller, but compare it with the price of a 5800X3D before buying.
There are still newly produced 10th Anniversary Edition 5800X3D chips appearing in the market, so the 5800X3D may be easier to source than the 5700X3D. For an AM4 gaming upgrade, either X3D model is a major step up from the 3700X.
If you can find a Ryzen 7 5800X3D at a reasonable price, it’s the faster AM4 gaming option and worth considering. Check current retailer pricing carefully, since some listings are heavily inflated.
