I'm upgrading from a Ryzen 7 3700X and am considering the Ryzen 7 5700X3D. Since it has reportedly stopped being produced, I'm unsure what a reasonable price is or where it's still safe to buy one. I've seen listings ranging from about £200 to £500—would £250 be a good deal? Are there any better AM4 processors I should consider instead?

At this point, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is the main alternative to consider. It offers excellent gaming performance on AM4, and newer 10th Anniversary stock is still being sold as brand new, so it may be easier to find than a 5700X3D.
The 5700X3D is becoming difficult to find, while the 5800X3D and 5500X3D are the more readily available options. Compare current prices carefully, because a £250 5700X3D may not be worthwhile if a 5800X3D is available for a similar amount.
