Is the Ryzen 7 5800XT a Good Upgrade from the R5 2600X?

I recently bought a Ryzen 7 5800XT from Amazon for about $160-170 after discounts, and I'm wondering if it's a solid upgrade from my current R5 2600X. Should I stick with this purchase or consider returning it for something less expensive?

You might not have gotten the absolute lowest price—there was a moment during prime day when it dropped to $140. But considering bang for your buck, this is probably the best non-X3D AM4 CPU out there. I switched from a 3700X to the 5800XT and noticed a big difference, especially after upgrading my GPU. If you plan to upgrade your GPU next, this chip should pair nicely!

Yeah, I was hoping to build a new system this year, but with current prices, I think I'll be sticking with upgrades for now. It’s next on my list to upgrade my GPU, moving from a 3060ti to a Nitro+ 9070XT.

If you couldn’t snag a reasonably priced 5700X3D or 5800X3D (which are both pretty hard to find right now), then you made a great choice with the 5800XT. It's a solid deal and should provide a noticeable performance boost for you.
