Is the Seagate Constellation ES.3 4TB Hard Drive Good for Gaming?

I'm considering purchasing the Seagate Constellation ES.3 4TB 7200RPM SATA 3.0 hard drive for my game and movie collection. It seems to fit my budget, but I want to make sure it performs well for gaming, particularly for titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA V, and God of War. I'm okay with some longer load times, as they aren't a dealbreaker for me. I understand that it may be slower than an SSD, but will it still be acceptable for actual gameplay? Also, how loud is this hard drive when it's running?

Honestly, using a spinning hard drive isn’t the best choice for gaming. They’re significantly slower than SSDs, which can really hurt your experience, especially with modern games. That said, if you're just using it for storage, it's playable but not ideal. Expect slower load times overall, and some games might stutter when they have to fetch a lot of data from the HDD.

While I agree HDDs are slow, I've run plenty of games on them without too much hassle. Sure, some modern open-world games can lag a bit, but many have been optimized for HDDs for ages. If you’re on a budget, managing your expectations is key!
