Is the Threadripper 1900X Still a Good Choice for Gaming?

I've been using my PC for the last four years, and as I've started playing more demanding games, it doesn't seem to perform as well as I expected. My setup includes a Threadripper 1900X, 32GB of RAM, and a 1050 Ti graphics card. I'm wondering if the CPU can still handle modern gaming or if it's time for an upgrade.

Honestly, your whole system feels outdated for most new games. You might want to consider a new build if you're serious about gaming. The Threadripper was good for productivity, but for gaming? Not so much.

Your 1050 Ti is definitely going to be the main bottleneck in your gaming setup, not the Threadripper. That GPU struggles with newer titles, so it's likely where you're running into issues.

While the Threadripper is okay for gaming, it's underwhelming compared to newer CPUs, especially in games. You’d see a major performance boost just by upgrading that lackluster 1050 Ti. Something like a 2060 Super could make a big difference!

If you want decent gaming performance, you really need to swap out that 1050 Ti. It was a budget GPU when it came out, and you could easily get something much better today that won’t be held back by the Threadripper. Try looking at cards like the RTX 4060 for modern gaming—it's a game changer!
