I'm looking to buy some RAM and I have a few questions. First off, can you get a single stick of 3200MHz RAM at any capacity? Or is it limited to having two sticks at 1600MHz each? Also, is XMP considered overclocking, or is it just a feature of the RAM? I'd really appreciate any insights. Thanks!

Yes, you can definitely find a single stick of DDR4 RAM that runs at 3200MHz. It doesn't matter if it's one stick or two; all the RAM in your system operates at the same speed, so you can use a single stick without any issues. As for XMP, it's considered a form of overclocking since it allows you to run the RAM at speeds higher than the standard settings, but it's really just using predefined profiles tested and approved by the manufacturer.

So just to clarify, XMP profiles are set speeds guaranteed by the manufacturer, right? So it’s not exactly the same as traditional overclocking where you might push things even further.
