Is there a GUI for LAPS passwords on Windows 11 25H2?

I'm setting up a Windows 11 25H2 machine and I'm curious if there's a GUI option for accessing passwords like the old Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS) UI. I know about the PowerShell commands, but I really liked the simplicity of the previous UI. The old MSI file doesn't seem to install anymore, so I'm looking for alternatives that offer a quick and user-friendly interface.

A heads up—Legacy LAPS might not operate on Windows 11 anymore. It seems like Microsoft wants users to transition to Windows LAPS, which supports more modern features.

True, but even if you're still on-prem, you can still see the passwords in ADUC without going full Azure.

Exactly! The new LAPS is designed for Azure environments, but there are still ways around it if you're just using on-prem setups.

Check out Lithnet Access Manager. It works for both Legacy and Windows LAPS, and it can pull data via a web interface. They offer decent documentation and scripts for setting up everything easily!

You might want to look into SimpleLapsGui; it’s user-friendly and taps into PowerShell behind the scenes. Perfect for those who want a GUI experience without dealing with too much coding!

I tried SimpleLapsGui and it's quite handy! There are recent updates that added some neat features too.

Thanks for the tip! I’ve created a PowerShell script to help my team, but this GUI will definitely save them some time.

Are you still using the old version of LAPS? If so, have you thought about migrating to Windows LAPS? With the new version, you can easily get the password through the Users and Computers tool under the LAPS tab, which might be faster than using PowerShell. Plus, it's totally integrates with the system now. Check out the migration guide too!

Absolutely! Windows LAPS works seamlessly and doesn’t require any cloud setup. If the GUI aspect is what you miss, there’s software like SimpleLapsGui that can help you out too.

That’s a good point! The GUI is a lot easier to handle when all you want is to quickly access a password without typing a bunch.

If you're familiar with Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC), that has a GUI option built-in! It could be a quick fix if you just need to view passwords.
