I'm searching for a specific kind of lamp timer that can automatically turn off after a set duration while also gradually dimming the light over that time. Ideally, I want the lamp to start at full brightness and then slowly fade to almost off just before it shuts down. I know there are smart plugs and bulbs that offer this feature, but I'm looking for a simple non-smart timer that plugs directly into the wall. I've encountered standard timers that switch off after a set time, but is there one out there that dims as it counts down?

Just try a regular timed dimmer; they worked well back in the day and still do!
Exactly, I’ve seen timers and dimmers separately, but nothing that gradually dims as it counts down. That’s been the tricky part!

There are mechanical timers meant for landscaping that might do part of what you want, but I’m not sure if they also dim over time. It's a bit tricky to find a single device that does both.
