I'm planning my first PC build and want to know whether these parts will make a decent gaming system before I buy anything. I understand that the components are technically compatible, but I'm unsure how well they'll perform together. My goal is to play demanding games such as Cyberpunk 2077 at around 40 FPS or higher on maximum settings, and I'd like to keep the total cost below $2,000.
The planned parts are a SilverStone PS13B ATX case, Gigabyte B550M K motherboard, Ryzen 5 5500 processor, Noctua NH-L9a-AM4 cooler, three 2TB SanDisk SATA SSDs, a 3TB 7200 RPM hard drive, 64GB of DDR4-3200 memory using four 16GB sticks, an advertised 1000W 80+ Gold power supply, and an ASRock Intel Arc A580 8GB graphics card.
I'm mainly building for gaming, with possibly some coding as well. I chose the large amount of storage because modern games seem to be getting much bigger, and I assumed that more memory would improve gaming performance. Are there better component choices or upgrades available while staying under $2,000?

The parts will work together, but the build is badly balanced for the price. The Ryzen 5 5500 and Arc A580 are entry-level choices, while the huge storage capacity, 64GB of RAM, and 1000W power supply consume money that would be much better spent on the graphics card and platform. For a gaming-focused system around $2,000, an AM5 build with a newer Ryzen processor, 32GB of DDR5-6000 memory, and a much faster GPU such as an RX 9060 XT or RX 9070 XT would be a far better target.
For gaming, the graphics card is the main weakness. The Arc A580 can handle 1080p reasonably well, but it is not a sensible match for a $2,000 total budget and may struggle with maximum settings in demanding games. Rework the build around the GPU first, then use 32GB of RAM, one fast NVMe drive, and a modern AM5 processor. That should provide substantially better performance and a clearer upgrade path.
The storage is extreme and appears to be poor value. Three 2TB SATA SSDs plus a 3TB hard drive gives you far more capacity than most gaming systems need, and those SATA SSDs may be expensive compared with a single 2TB NVMe drive. Start with one good 2TB NVMe SSD and add more storage later if you actually need it. Game performance will not improve much from having multiple drives.
A large game can take a lot of space, but that doesn’t mean every game is going to need a full terabyte. You can also uninstall games you aren’t currently playing and add another drive later.
A quality 650W or 750W power supply is plenty for the current components, with 750W giving you useful upgrade headroom. 80+ Gold only describes efficiency; it does not automatically mean the unit is high quality. Choose a known, well-reviewed model from a reputable manufacturer instead of relying on an unfamiliar 1000W unit. The exact model matters more than the wattage rating.
The supplied PSU information is not enough to judge its reliability. Check independent reviews of the exact model before buying, rather than assuming the Gold label makes it safe.
The Ryzen 5 5500 includes a stock cooler, and it is cool-running enough that you can use that initially. The Noctua low-profile cooler is unnecessary for this chip, especially since the case can fit a normal tower cooler. A budget Thermalright tower cooler would be a better purchase if you want lower temperatures and noise.

You probably don’t need 64GB for gaming either. A 2x16GB kit is enough for nearly all games and also leaves two memory slots open for a future upgrade.
