This is my first time putting together a custom gaming PC, and I'd appreciate feedback on whether the parts and pricing make sense. The build includes an RTX 3080 listed at around $700, along with a premium-looking case and other higher-end components. I previously used a GTX 1660 and currently have access to a rented RTX 2060, but I'm looking to buy a used graphics card for roughly $400 or less if possible. I mainly want strong gaming performance without overspending on parts that don't noticeably improve frame rates.

I’d also consider upgrading to a good PCIe 4.0 SSD for a small additional cost. That would make more sense than paying a large premium for the case, particularly if choosing a less expensive case would let you improve the graphics card. The GPU will have a much bigger impact on gaming than most of those other upgrades.
An RTX 3080 is still a capable card, but the overall build may not be balanced if it costs several hundred dollars more than necessary. You can end up paying for high-end DDR5, an X3D processor, and flashy case features while getting gaming performance closer to a much cheaper system. I’d prioritize the GPU budget first, then choose sensible supporting parts around it.
The first thing I’d question is the graphics card. Do you already own the RTX 3080, or would you be buying it? Paying around $700 for a used 10GB RTX 3080 seems excessive, especially when newer options may offer better value. Since gaming performance is your priority, putting more of the budget toward the GPU is usually better than spending extra on premium memory, an expensive case, or other cosmetic upgrades.
I don’t own the 3080. I used to have a GTX 1660, and I’m temporarily renting my brother’s RTX 2060. I’d prefer to buy a used GPU and keep the budget around $400 if possible. Any recommendations?
