I'm getting into PC gaming mainly for casual play and competitive games with friends. I found this system for $1,000 and want to know whether it seems like a solid build, assuming the components look good in person and it passes a stress test. Are there any parts I should upgrade immediately?

The overall value could be decent, mostly because of the graphics card. The first easy upgrade would be another 16GB of matching DDR4 memory, since 16GB can become a limitation in newer games and while multitasking. Just make sure the two sticks run in dual-channel mode.
The PSU is the biggest concern here. That particular unit has a very poor reputation, and a high-end GPU shouldn’t be paired with a questionable power supply. I’d replace it with a reputable 750W or 850W model before putting much gaming time into the system. Also check that the motherboard BIOS supports the processor and that the AIO pump and fans work properly.
