Is this used gaming PC worth $1,000 AUD?

I'm considering buying this second-hand gaming PC for $1,000 AUD. The parts are an RTX 3070 Gaming X Trio, Ryzen 5 5600, 32GB DDR4-3600 memory, 1TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus SSD, MSI B550 Gaming Plus motherboard, Cooler Master Hyper 212 cooler, Corsair RM750 power supply, and an NZXT H510 case. Does that seem like a fair price for the complete system, or should I negotiate lower?
Answers
That price is roughly what the system is worth. The graphics card might sell for around $350โ$400 AUD, while the CPU, memory, and motherboard together could be worth another $600 or so depending on condition. The power supply, case, cooler, and included storage make the full package reasonable at $1,000.

Iโd call it good rather than exceptional. You arenโt being overcharged, but thereโs probably room to negotiate if the system is older, dusty, or missing original accessories. Ask how long it has been used, whether the GPU was used for mining, and check temperatures and stability during a test.

The newer SSD pricing makes the package look a little more attractive, but the main value is still the RTX 3070 and the rest of the core platform. If everything works properly and the parts are in good condition, $1,000 AUD is acceptable; Iโd be happier closer to $900โ$950.

It looks like a fair deal, though not an unbelievable bargain. The RTX 3070 still carries a decent amount of the value, and the Ryzen 5 5600, 32GB of RAM, and B550 motherboard make it a well-balanced 1080p or 1440p gaming system. Iโd still check the PCโs condition and component health before buying.
