I accidentally tapped a link from a Google Images result on my phone, which opened the URL analyzed by VirusTotal. I closed the page almost immediately, before it appeared to finish loading. VirusTotal only showed one detection from VIPRE, so I'm wondering whether that is likely to be a false positive and whether I need to take any action on my phone.

A single detection from one scanner on a URL-analysis service can be a false positive, especially when the other engines don’t flag it. It isn’t enough information to conclusively declare the site safe, but you also don’t need to assume your phone is infected just because the page opened. Keep the phone and browser updated, review recently installed apps, and run the built-in security check if you want extra reassurance. Avoid revisiting the link or installing anything it may have prompted you to download.
On a modern phone, simply opening a webpage usually won’t infect the device. Mobile operating systems restrict what websites can do, and closing a page before it finishes rendering doesn’t necessarily prove anything either way. The important question is whether you downloaded or installed anything afterward. If you didn’t install an unfamiliar app, enable sideloading, or grant suspicious permissions, there’s probably nothing to worry about.
