Is Ubuntu a Good Choice for Switching from Windows?

I'm considering making the switch from Windows 11 to Linux and want to know if Ubuntu is a solid option. I'm looking for a user-friendly, GUI-heavy distribution that will be stable and continue to exist in the long run. I don't plan on regularly changing distributions, so I want something that will be a permanent fit for me.
