Is Upgrading from 3600X to 5800XT Worth It?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my PC setup, which currently has a 3600X CPU, a 3060Ti GPU, and 32GB DDR4 RAM on an X570 motherboard. I initially wanted to get a 5700X3D, but since those are no longer being made, I'm considering upgrading to AM5. However, with RAM prices being so high, I'm debating whether to just upgrade my CPU to a 5800XT instead and hold off on a complete overhaul.

My main games are Escape from Tarkov and Battlefield 6. I'm curious how much of a difference I'd see with the 5800XT and if it'd be worth bypassing an AM5 build for now. I'd like to maximize my performance in Tarkov, but I'm unsure what kind of impact my 3060Ti would have at 1440p. Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated!

I just got a 5800XT myself, and I’m loving it! It definitely boosted my gaming experience.

For Battlefield 6, definitely go with the 5800XT. However, Tarkov is super sensitive to L3 cache, so I'd recommend looking for a used 5700X3D or 5800X3D. They might be pricey now, but they're worth it if you want max performance.

I regret not picking one up when I had the chance! I've been back into Tarkov and wish I had acted sooner.

I'm using a 5800X and I'm skipping AM5 altogether. For gaming, you don't really need more cores unless you're playing CPU-heavy games like Cities: Skylines. The performance jump from 3600X to 5800XT is noticeable, but don't expect a massive overhaul—around 20-25% better.

If you're aiming for longevity, adding a 9070XT along with the 5800XT would set you up for the next few years!

Absolutely, upgrading to the 5800XT sounds like a solid plan! You’ll have a good time gaming with that upgrade.

I did the same for my girlfriend’s build, and it’s only about 10% behind my new setup. Just take into account some new components if you're switching GPUs.
