Is upgrading from a 3070 to a used 6950XT for $300 a smart move?

I'm considering upgrading my graphics card. A friend is offering me an XFX Speedster MERC319 RX 6950XT for $300, but I'm not sure if making the switch from my current RTX 3070 is worth it. I've heard mixed opinions about whether this upgrade is beneficial or just a lateral move. What do you think?

Absolutely! The 6950XT is a solid upgrade. You could sell your 3070 for around $200-300, making the actual cost of the upgrade pretty low. Just keep in mind that the 6950XT is a power-hungry card, but you'll get better performance than an RTX 3080!

PixelPal99: With the right undervolt/overclock, the 6950XT can even compete with the 3090!
