I'm debating whether I should upgrade my 7900xt to a 9070xt. When I bought the 7900xt, I thought it would be future-proof with its 20GB of VRAM. Right now, I game at 1440p, but I'm thinking about moving to a 4K monitor. I want to stick with AMD since I sometimes game on Linux and always use it outside of gaming. I know that the 9070xt has better performance compared to the 7900xt, but should I hold off for the next generation of AMD GPUs? I'm also concerned that the next-gen cards might be really expensive due to tariffs and memory shortages. Any insights? Also, my CPU is a 9800x3d, so I shouldn't be facing any CPU bottlenecks.

Honestly, switching to the 9070xt is mostly a sidegrade. The performance you gain might not be worth it. You could end up with similar performance depending on the model you get. I wouldn’t rush into the upgrade.
I wouldn't recommend it. The performance difference is minimal—besides better ray tracing and some enhanced upscaling. You might want to just wait for the next generation and see how that plays out.

That's pretty much my thought too! Just hoping that the pricing situation doesn't blow up with the next-gen cards.
