Is upgrading from a GTX 1660 to an RX 7700 XT worth $350?

I'm planning a graphics card upgrade and found an AMD RX 7700 XT for around $350. Is that a good price, and would it be a worthwhile jump from my Nvidia GTX 1660? I'd also like to know roughly how large the performance improvement is, since I've heard some popular GPU comparison sites aren't very reliable.

Itโs not just a small step upโthe 7700 XT is several performance tiers above the 1660. Exact results depend on the game, resolution, and settings, but the difference should be very obvious, especially at 1440p. Rather than relying on a single comparison site, check independent reviews with game-by-game benchmarks. Also make sure your power supply and case can handle the newer card.

Yes, that would be a major upgrade. The RX 7700 XT is aimed at strong 1440p gaming, while the GTX 1660 is more suited to 1080p with reduced settings in newer games. You should see a substantial performance increase, along with more VRAM and support for newer features. Around $350 is a reasonable price if the card is new or in good condition.
MellowCactus42: That sounds promising. Iโm mostly worried about spending that much, so I wanted to make sure the improvement would actually be noticeable.

MellowCactus42: Iโll compare real game benchmarks and check my power supply before buying. I mainly play at 1080p now, but the extra headroom could be useful.
