I'm currently using a Ryzen 5600X paired with an RX 6700 XT, and I'm considering an upgrade to an RX 9070 XT in the future. I'm curious if switching to a Ryzen 5800X3D will noticeably improve my gaming performance. Has anyone made this upgrade, and what was your experience?

The 5800X3D definitely performs better in games than the 5600X. If gaming is your primary focus, it's a solid upgrade! But do consider the cost, as the price can be quite high depending on where you buy it.

Honestly, it might not be worth the expense. You could find better value by investing in a newer AM5 platform instead. For the price of the 5800X3D, you could grab a newer CPU and motherboard combo that will serve you better in the long run.

The 5800X3D is a great chip, but you might want to hold off if the price is too high. I've seen them listed around $300-$400, which seems steep compared to newer models that outperform it. If you're not planning to upgrade to AM5, consider if you really need that jump.

I personally upgraded from a 5600X to a 5700X3D and I did notice improvements in gaming at 1440p. If you can get a good deal on the 5800X3D, go for it! Just weigh it against the prices of newer options.

It really depends on what you're aiming for. If you're gaming at 1080p with high settings, you might see significant improvements. But if you're playing at 4K, the CPU upgrade will likely have less impact since you're more GPU-bound.
