I currently use a Ryzen 7 2700X with a GTX 1650 Super and play competitive games such as Counter-Strike and Valorant at around 1440×1080 resolution. I usually get between 110 and 190 FPS. Since I can't afford to move to an AM5 platform right now, would upgrading to a Ryzen 5 5600 provide a noticeable improvement, or should I keep my current processor?

If you want the biggest possible gaming upgrade while staying on AM4, consider a Ryzen 7 5700X3D instead if you can save up for it. Its 3D V-Cache can be excellent for high-FPS gaming, but with a GTX 1650 Super the improvement may be limited in some situations, so the Ryzen 5 5600 is the better value if your budget is tight.
You’ll probably see a measurable increase in average and minimum FPS, but don’t expect a dramatic transformation. If you already stay around 120 FPS or higher, moving closer to 160 FPS may not feel hugely different unless you’re using a high-refresh-rate monitor. The 5600 will also run cooler and use less power than the 2700X.
The Ryzen 5 5600 should give you better CPU performance and more consistent frame times, especially in CPU-limited competitive games. It’s a sensible AM4 upgrade, but make sure your motherboard BIOS supports Ryzen 5000 processors first.

I’m playing at 1440×1080 with a GTX 1650 Super, so I’m mainly trying to improve FPS consistency without replacing the whole platform.
