Is upgrading from an RX 7600 XT to an RX 9070 worthwhile for 4K gaming at 60 Hz?

My RX 7600 XT 16GB handles most games smoothly at 1080p, but it isn't really making use of my 4K 60 Hz monitor. Some demanding games, such as Dragon's Dogma 2, also run poorly. Would moving to an RX 9070 be a worthwhile upgrade for comfortable 4K gaming, or would it make more sense to wait?

Yes, the RX 9070 would be a substantial upgrade and is more than twice as fast as the RX 7600 XT in many workloads. It should be far better suited to 4K gaming and can target around 60 FPS in Dragon's Dogma 2, assuming your CPU is fast enough to avoid becoming the limiting factor.

For a 4K 60 Hz display, this is a meaningful upgrade rather than a minor sidegrade. The RX 9070 should handle 4K at close to 60 FPS in many games without needing aggressive graphics compromises. Just check that your power supply and case have enough capacity and clearance.

The factory โOCโ label isn't very important here. Different models may have slightly different clocks, but the real-world performance gap is usually tiny, so choose based on price, cooler quality, noise, warranty, and availability rather than paying a large premium for an overclocked edition.

BrightLynx56: The standard RX 9070 is probably the better value if the XT costs about โฌ100 more and you don't need the extra performance. A quality 1000 W power supply is more than sufficient for this upgrade, and the non-XT model should also use somewhat less power.
