I found a used Ryzen 7 5700X3D for sale, but it's a 3-hour drive and it's already two years old. I'm wondering if the upgrade will provide noticeable improvements in smoothness and lower 1% frame rates.

Your current 5700 is pretty limited, especially since it only has 16MB of L3 cache. The 5700X3D, with its 96MB cache, should give you a solid boost in performance for gaming. Especially at 1440p!
