Is Upgrading My CPU Enough for Better FPS in Dota 2?

I've got a decent gaming setup with a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, an RTX 4070 Ti GPU, and 16 GB of RAM, all running on a B450M Pro-VDH MAX motherboard. My monitor is the AW2723DF, and I'm gaming at 1440p. However, I'm only getting around 90-100 fps in Dota 2, which seems off. I'm also playing a few other games like Wukong, COD, BF6, and POE2. I want to improve my performance without spending too much. Would simply upgrading the CPU give me a significant boost, or is there more I need to consider? Thanks for the help!

You might want to consider your power supply too. A 500W for a 4070 Ti could be on the lower side, depending on the rest of your setup. Make sure your PSU can handle the load, especially if you’re upgrading components later on.

Honestly, upgrading your CPU should make a difference, but it’s surprising you’re getting such low fps with that setup. I usually hit around 165 fps at 1440p with my 4070 and everything maxed out. Before you commit to a CPU upgrade, make sure to check if your BIOS is up to date—this can have a big impact on performance. Updating your drivers will help too. Give those a shot first!

I actually updated my BIOS about a year and a half ago, so it might be time to check if there’s a newer version!

If you're looking at CPU options, the 5700X3D is a solid choice. It's around €270, while the 5800X3D is a bit pricier at about €360. Just make sure the performance boost is worth the investment for you. It's all about balancing your budget and performance needs!
